Default How good is cyberpower?

They have won alot of awards, and most of the feedback is 100% good but I ask you

how good are they as a company?

I'm going to be straight forward here.

They are only as good as the parts they use. from what I've seen, they aren't that bad. I'd like to add, that when buying a pre-fabbed comp, during shipping, jiggling to and fro does, and will occur. when you get your rig, give it a once over, then give it a twice over before plugging it in. look for loose/un-connected wires, loose fx card(s), etc..etc..

if you ordered it from newegg, their packing is always pretty good, but as stated, bumps and bangs do occur...no worries though.

-on a side note..I'm not sure of your clime, but it may be wise to let it sit for an hour or two before plugging it in. I know this is gonna be hard, but let the rig get acclimatized to it's surroundings. condensation can be a killer.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

I can not stress that enough. I bought one this past August, lasted three days untill it completly crapped out.

I had problems from the second I turned it on, display issues, all the games I played locked up on it. Literally lasted 48 hours, went to turn it back on and would not start up, nothing. Like Flubber said, they use all different parts and I noticed that most of the upgrades I had asked for were the wrong ones.

Customer service was a nightmare as well, the first two people I talked to would not take it back, finally the third one put the return through after much hassling.

In the end I had to pay $50 to ship it back, then hit with $150 return fee. $200 lost that could have went towards another computer. I do not recomened Cyberpower to anyone. One of the worst computer experiences of my life, save yourslef the trouble and buy from somewhere else.

sounds like it overheated. did you bother to look inside to make sure everything was still hooked up properly? things do come loose during shipping . .. if you're technical enough to be able to recognize the upgrades were wrong, then you should have been able to open it up and at least see if the heatsink was still attached properly.

Yeah, I did look inside, the heat sink was fine, both the SLI cards were attached properly, there was nothing loose that I could notice. My main problem was the fact that the second day I had the computer, I was fiddling inside the case on the phone with customer service. If this was the quality of the product after two days what would it be like after two months? After dropping a couple of grand I had no intention of keeping a product that was defective the second day of use. I wanted something that would last at least a couple years, and that type of quality is not what Cyber power offered.

Again, my personal experience with cyberpower. Just because I went through this ordeal doesn not mean it is the same for everyone.

Two questions:

how was it shipped?

and two how did you buy it?: from newegg or from the cyberpower site?

and how much was the PC you got.

ive ordered 4 cyber power comps over the years for myself and various friends and every thing has worked fine and the customer service is helpful and always available. their prices are hard to beat as well, unless u build it yourself with your own parts for a few hundred cheaper

Cyberpower ROCKED for me, most likey for a few reasons one is:

Two day shipping
and then high cost meant better PC

I had two bad sticks of Corsair memory once. So don't buy their memory either because it's junk.

Your logic is terrible

Look at overall reviews and don't put much stock in a single person.

I'd personally opt for building a computer myself since I can hand select quality parts and save a couple hundred bucks. As far as custom computer makers are concerned, Cyberpower is average and is as good as other custom computer makers like VelocityMicro... but not as good as northwest falcon (Though I think their computers are insanely overpriced). Compared to dell and HP, Cyberpower wins hands down.

I agree, mine came perfect

I also followed some good advice: Dont plug it in right away because the clime was much colder then where I live, it came from New jeresy so thats COLD, I waited about four hours before I first set it up and plug it in and booted it up.
